![]() Our primary goal is to concentrate on the welfare of seniors, women and children. Since the first year of the inception of our club, we adopted service projects, and throughout the last 17 years, we have collectively raised over $860,000 between the club’s fundraising endeavors and gaming. We have donated over $800,000 of the proceeds to many charities. Charities that we have touched since 1991 were so extensive that it is difficult to list them all. In essence, the number exceeds 50 charities within the last 16 years. Primarily we donate to those that take care of the issues that we hold dear to our hearts, the welfare of seniors, women and children. We have also established a foundation that we would use to invest into a senior housing project. We have implemented this project in 2004 and we are currently looking for a senior housing project to run. We also value building friendship and we value teamwork. Balancing life among career, family, bringing up our children and volunteering, we are able to extend fellowship internationally to twin with 2 all ladies’ clubs overseas. In 1992 it was the Hong Kong Central Lions Club (District 303) and in 1999, the Hsien Tsyr Hsing Lions Club in Taipei (District 300B). We were able to, at both occasions, visited our twin club en masse traveling to Hong Kong and Taipei respectively. On January 17, 2008, historically we have twinned with 4 local clubs: Van. East Lions, Van. Marpole Lions, Van. Shaughnessy Lions and Van. Chinatown Lioness Clubs. It was the belief of teamwork that held us together for 17 years and allowed us to work together so efficiently in the past, the present and undoubtedly, the FUTURE. It appears that it is our perpetual, yet rewarding, task to be recruiting new young members so that our ideals and commitment will be passed on, and our dreams will then survive and flourish.
